Apex Legends leak reveals game’s level cap may soon be increased

🖥️

For years, Apex Legends players have been begging for the game’s level cap — which currently ends at level 500 — to be raised. According to a recent tweet from data miner SomewhoLeaks, Respawn plans to increase the level cap to 700 in the near future.

SomebodyWhoLeaks discovered badge frames in game files, indicating that Apex players may access 200 new levels in the near future.Anonymous leaker, who has previously leaked information from upcoming skins Images of Lifeline and Octane level badge frames were posted for gameplay changes, but claim they found more. Badges evolve as players level up, and popular Apex Legends data miner Hypermist confirmed the leak, tweeting more examples of how the frame evolved.

This is a very exciting development for those who have been playing Apex since day one. Initially, the level cap was set at 100, which was finally raised to 500 in December 2019. Part of the reason Apex players are so keen to increase the level cap is the rewards for leveling up. At each level, players receive Legendary Tokens, which can be used to relaunch daily challenges and purchase Legendary skins to recolor in the in-game store. They also receive Apex packages on a regular basis. But once the level cap is reached, players will no longer receive Apex packs when leveling up.

This means that many users who play Apex every day are sitting on thousands or even hundreds of thousands of Legendary Tokens, which aren’t particularly useful because they can’t unlock cosmetic items, but have just recolored their own for cosmetic players. There’s also the bragging question – players naturally want to show off how many times they’ve leveled up, but their level badges are stuck at level 500, even though they may have actually leveled hundreds or thousands of times.

But despite the good news, Some players are still frustrated There seems to be an oddly small increase. Many had hoped that any changes to the current level cap would raise it to 1,000. Still, after more than two years of being rewarded with Legendary Tokens, veteran players will surely be delighted to start unlocking free Apex packs.

It’s unclear when the cap will actually be implemented, but the presence of the new frames in the game files suggests that the new leveling system could be in the game sooner or later.
