CoD Season 4 Roadmap Details New Warzone Map, Traditional Zombies Come to Vanguard

Call of Duty Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune hits Vanguard and Warzone on June 22, and Activision has revealed a roadmap of what players can expect from the new season. Zombies are getting Vanguard’s first traditional survival map, and a new Resurence map is coming to Warzone.

After the June 21st 9AM ET/12PM ET update on Vanguard and the June 22nd 9AM ET/12PM ET update for Warzone, the Mercenary of Fortune update will be available on Vanguard and Warzone online.

New Operators, Battle Passes, and more

Season 4: Mercenaries of Fortune will also introduce a new set of operators to Vanguard and Warzone through the Immortal Special Operations Task Force. As always, the Season 4 Battle Pass will include 100 new tiers of content, with two new DLC weapons in the free tier.

The Immortal Special Operations Task Force will include Captain Butcher himself as a Level 1 Operator in the Premium Battle Pass. Callum Hendry and Ikenna Olowe will arrive later this season as part of the Vanguard and Warzone operator bundles.

Marco 5 and UGM-8 can be found in the free tier of the pass. The Marco 5 is a submachine gun, described as a “high mobility submachine gun, accurate from the hip, with excellent close-range stopping power”, while the UGM-8 is revealed to be a “high rate of fire, maneuverable LMG, adept at creating suppressive fire and propulsion” Enemy positions.” Later in the season, the Push Dagger Melee Tool and Vargo-S Assault Rifle will provide unlockable challenges.

Fortune New Mercenaries Seasonal Event

The Mercenary of Fortune event works similarly to past Call of Duty events, requiring completing a set of eight challenges to earn rewards such as weapon camos, crosshairs, weapon trinkets, badges, stickers, and business cards. However, the event does not appear to include a Vanguard challenge. The Mercenary of Fortune event focuses on Warzone’s Caldera and Fortune’s Keep maps, and completing all eight challenges will unlock golden skins for Warzone’s armored SUV.

Fortune’s Keep map and new contract types

Mercenaries of Fortune brings a brand new Fortress of Fortune revival map, which will be much like the close quarters and respawn action of Respawn Island, but now with a new Castle Island setting. Activision has confirmed in the Season 4 roadmap that Fortune’s Keep will not permanently replace Respawn Island, but the old map will be temporarily unavailable. The publisher says weekly playlist updates will “curate a three-playable map experience” later in the season.

Fortune’s Keep will add new contracts to Battle Royale. The Black Market Run Contract requires players to reach the Black Market Buy Station before the timer expires. This new black market buy station contains items not found in normal buy stations or found as ground loot, such as sequencing grenades, Nebula V revolvers, visionaries, expert rewards, or one of several “secret” weapons.

Cash Extraction is another new contract type introduced by Fortune’s Keep. Activision described this as “stray mercenaries” trying to airlift cash from Fortune Castle. It sounds like this will be an NPC dragging bags of cash that the player can then locate and intercept. Other players in the match will also be able to intercept cash from mercenaries, making this contract a risky but potentially rewarding way to make money.

Major changes in the crater

Caldera Season 4 also has some new changes. One of the biggest updates is that Season 4 will remove 50% of the vegetation on the island to improve visibility on the map. In addition to being able to see more clearly, players will also have more looting opportunities. Roadmap details for more than a dozen points of interest have been changed or added to Caldera, such as mercenary camps, adding scaffolding and changing multiple buildings in the capital’s location, to name a few.

ATM machines will be added to loot mode, and players can periodically search for extra cash.

Armored SUVs have also been added to the big map of Battle Royale. These new armored SUVs include a roof turret seat and even a Nitro Boost option for a temporary acceleration boost.

New limited-time loot mode

Golden Plunder will be Caldera’s upcoming limited-time mode. New gold loot limited time mode. The ruleset is similar to Plunder’s Blood Money variant, but with some changes to the experience:

  • Number of players increased from 100 to 120
  • Drops more cash when the player dies
  • Cash required to win increases to $5,000,000

The mode will also include new ATM features and tease “Golden Key Cards” for access to a bunker full of valuable new loot.

Vanguard MP Map USS Texas 1945

New MP maps and modes

Two maps have been announced for Vanguard’s multiplayer. Coming up for Season 4 is USS Texas 1945m, a “reimagining” of the USS Texas map from Call of Duty: WWII. USS Texas is a medium-sized map set on a World War II battleship.

Later in the season, players will get a new Desolate map. Desolation is described as a small to medium sized map with a dense village full of destruction in the background.

The multiplayer mode of Call of Duty’s blueprint gun game debuts on Pioneer. Just like a standard shootout match, players want to be the first to win a free match with all 18 weapons. Players must eliminate an enemy to cycle through the next weapon, and melee enemies will cause them to fall back one weapon.

new map for zombies

Thirteen years after its first release in Call of Duty: World at War, Shi No Numa is back, bringing the classic turn-based zombie experience to Vanguard. Treyarch ditched Vanguard’s objective-style maps in favor of a more traditional zombie experience.

While Shi No Numa is an older map, Treyarch says players can expect this enhanced version of Shi No Numa to include a new area to explore, Easter eggs, Wonder Weapons quests, and more. The map also gets a major new storyline quest tied to Treyarch’s ongoing Dark Aether narrative. This major Easter egg is described as a “multi-step quest that culminates in a devastating battle,” and complete completion of the quest will reward the player with a business card.

In other Call of Duty news, Activision also announced Warzone 2.0 later this year, “soon” after the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This was the first trailer for Modern Warfare 2, and the game’s “Darkwater” campaign mission was also previewed at the recent Summer Games festival. receive a commission from retail offers.
