Halo Infinite Season 2: Lone Wolves is now live, adding a brand new free-to-play mode, The Last Spartans Standing. The new mode is like a miniature battle royale, pitting 12 players against each other with limited lives. The mode also has a shrinking area similar to Battle Royale mode, although it’s less aggressive. Rumor has it that Certain Affinity is working on a true battle royale mode for the game, and now is the perfect time to level up your skills. Here are some tips to help you dominate the Last Spartan Standing.

How The Last Spartans Standing Works

Before you start to hone your skills and control your opponents, it’s important to understand how the game modes work and what your goals are. The 12-player mode is a free-to-play match, so each player competes against the others. Each player starts out with five respawns, so once you die six times, you’re out forever. Each player starts with the same weapon and can acquire better weapons by killing, assisting, or picking up the bonus XP left behind by eliminated players. Once there are only a few players left in the game, the playing field begins to shrink. The last Spartan will win the game.

Weapon upgrade level

One of the most important parts of the game is that there are no weapons on the map. There are only grenades, shields, and active camo drops around the map. Instead, players start with a set of weapons that can be upgraded over the course of the game, similar to the shootout in Call of Duty. Once you have enough XP, you can choose to upgrade, but you don’t have to. The reason this is important is that the weapon kit you upgrade to is not necessarily better than what you previously had. Instead, you should understand what weapons are available at each level, and how much XP you need to get there, so you can always have the gun you’re most comfortable with. XP is cumulative, so it doesn’t go away when you upgrade. Here are all the weapon sets for each level and how much experience you need:

  • Level 1: Disruptor and MK50 Sidekick – Base Level
  • Level 2: Breakers and Stranglers – 100 XP
  • Tier 3: Mangler and MA40 Assault Rifles – 300 XP
  • Tier 4: Commando and MA40 Assault Rifle – 650 XP
  • Level 5: CQS48 Bulldogs and Commandos – 1150 XP
  • Level 6: BR75 and CQS48 Bulldog – 1850 XP (top level)

Looking at the load list, it’s clear that there are places where personal preference comes into play. Considering that Last Spartan Standing is played on a large map, the MK50 Sidekick’s ranged weapons are better than the Mangler. If you’re like me, you don’t care too much about commandos, and probably want to stick with the upgrade until it comes with a shotgun.

The Last Spartan Standing Trick

While most final Spartans ranking matches will depend on which of the two remaining players at the end is more skilled, keep some tips in mind to help you get to the final few players.

the first is proceed with caution. Now, I won’t condone camping here as it’s not a very fun strategy – plus you’ll have a hard time leveling up your guns if you’re not involved in the action yourself – but I’d advise you to do something about when to get involved Choose wisely. Halo Infinite can be a very aggressive shooter, with players constantly bumping into each other. The reason it doesn’t work here is because whoever can’t die six times is the winner. It doesn’t matter if you rush in and get 6 or 7 kills if you get knocked out early. It would be wise to look for two players fighting each other that you can ambush and avoid getting caught in the crossfire.

The next tip is about extra experience Water droplets that appear around the map. They are discarded whenever a player is eliminated, usually worth 300 XP. This is equivalent to three kills, so it can help you reach the highest weapon level. The important thing to know is that the extra XP drop takes about 5 seconds to earn. If you’re hoping to grab these quickly, that’s not going to happen. You need to make sure you can pick them up, especially if the player dies in an open area.

The last tip is Beware of pods. Weapon pods, similar to weapon pods that drop in big team fights, always contain one of two things, either active camouflage or a cover. These pods drop frequently, and since there are fewer players late in the game, a bunch may be left behind. Owning any of these will give you a huge advantage over other players, so it’s important to look for them as much as possible.
