Hardspace: Shipbreaker is coming to PC Game Pass
The physics-intensive spacecraft scrapping simulator Hardspace: Shipbreaker has finally been officially released. The game will end its two-year Early Access on May 24, and will be available for PC via Game Pass on day one.
For those who haven’t heard, Hardspace: Shipbreaker is the latest from developer Blackbird Interactive and publisher Focus Home Interactive. In it, players take on the dangerous job of scrapping spaceships, all in space. They must navigate the interiors of large transport ships and small personal crafts, using the endless power objects in space to toss waste into incinerators and preserve any useful parts.
The job is also very dangerous. Some of these ships are still powered by massive cores, and some of them are still pressurized. Shooting lasers strong enough to rip a spacecraft’s sheet metal into its powered core would have explosive results. To make matters worse, this happens when the player cuts the hole directly into space inside the pressurized pod. It’s a quick and messy way to get out, and every death is deducted from the pay for the job.
When Hardspace: Shipbreaker launches for PC on May 24th via Steam, the Windows 10 Store and Game Pass for PC, players will be able to discover all the fun (and danger) of shipbreaking and sudden cabin decompression. Also joining Microsoft’s subscription service is Bugsnax, which launches April 28 with Xbox Game Pass for consoles and PC.
