How to Sign Up for the Overwatch 2 Beta
The full version of Overwatch 2 may still not have a release date, but Blizzard is finally ready to give fans a try for the upcoming shooter. Players will be able to sign up for a series of betas and test brand new features of the game. Overwatch 2’s first closed beta will begin in late April, but others will follow for anyone who can’t get in.
How to Sign Up for the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta
Signing up for the Overwatch 2 closed beta is easy. First, head to the Overwatch website (or click the link here) and make sure you’re logged into your Battle.net account. When you’re done, scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the big blue button labeled “Sign Up Now.”
Registering your interest doesn’t guarantee you’ll have access to the beta, but it’s your best chance to take part in an upcoming beta.
What’s Included in the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta
Anyone who manages to get into the Overwatch 2 closed beta coming in late April will be treated to a new set of content the game’s developers have been talking about for the past year.
First, players will be able to try out Overwatch’s newest hero, Sojourn, a railgun-wielding soldier. What we know about the character so far is that she’s one of the new heroes in Overwatch 2, and her abilities are a complete mystery.
Along with Sojourn, players will be able to try out Overwatch 2’s four new maps, the new Push game mode, and the new ping system. Numerous hero reworkes that change the way Orisa, Doomfist, Bastion, and Sombra play will also be available.
No matter what game mode a player chooses, or what hero they choose, each game in the Overwatch 2 closed beta will have two fewer players than the original game. In its most radical change, Overwatch 2 changed the format of the game from two teams of six to two teams of five, and players will be able to try out the new system in the game’s closed beta.
This beta comes as Blizzard separates the PvP and PvE components of Overwatch 2. Our goal is to get content to players faster.
