How to Sign Up for the Overwatch 2 Beta

Overwatch 2 Beta Registration Now Live: Dates and Details for PC/Console Testing

Overwatch 2 is coming on October 4th, but you won’t have to wait that long to try out the new PvP. The Closed Beta includes new game modes, new heroes, and tweaked returning characters that will not only spark your interest in the full game, but also provide feedback that Blizzard can implement to improve it. The next beta starts June 28 for PC and consoles, and you can sign up to play now.

How to Sign Up for the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta

Signing up for the Overwatch 2 closed beta is easy. First, go to the Overwatch website and make sure you are logged into your Battle.net account. Once done, look at the top of the page and you’ll see an orange “Request beta access” button. This will take you to the bottom of the page, which has a drop-down menu for you to choose a platform. Make this selection and click the orange button below.

Registering your interest doesn’t guarantee you’ll have access to the beta, but it’s your best chance to take part in an upcoming beta. If you were in the late April alpha, you also won’t be in the new beta. Your platform choice also comes into play, as Blizzard’s goal is to get enough people on each supported platform to better test its implementation of cross-platform play.

However, what can give you guaranteed access is to pay some cold hard cash. A $40 bundle called the Watchpoint Pack guarantees access to the beta along with other digital content.

What’s Included in the Overwatch 2 Closed Beta

The next Overwatch 2 closed beta will include access to a new map as well as a new Junker Queen hero. The Queen Junker is a tank designed for 5 hero teams, which means she uses a more aggressive style than traditional tanks like Reinhardt. She can also use a throwing knife attached to a chain, which not only damages enemies but also pulls them towards her when called back.

The closed beta is also coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, not just PC. Because of this, Blizzard is using it to test cross-play across systems.

This beta comes as Blizzard is separating the PvP and PvE components of Overwatch 2. Our goal is to get content to players faster and without loot boxes. PvE is expected to arrive in 2023.
