The Xbox Summer Games Festival demo returns on June 21

Microsoft will resume its ID@Xbox Summer Games Festival demo next week (June 21-27). The event will bring another 30 playable demos of unreleased Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S games for a limited time.

Like last year’s event, the Summer Game Fest demos will be very early game builds, not the fancy demos you’re probably used to most game demos. The announcement notes that these are more akin to the “showroom demos” you might find at events like PAX or E3. This means they may change and the developers will seek your constructive feedback.

Also atypical is that these demos are only available for a week. Some may come back later, but if you find one that interests you, keep in mind that it may be gone for good once the demo period is over.

Microsoft says the full lineup will be available closer to the release date, but for now, it has teased four games that will be included. These are the adventure game Batora: Lost Haven, the psychological thriller Broken Pieces, the stylish FPS Severed Steel and the cute adventure puzzle game Tinykin. Last year’s Summer Games Festival demos included well-known names such as Lake, Sable and Tunic.
