Trial weapons now feature the Alacrity Origin Trait. It improves your Trials gun’s aim assist, reload speed, stability and range when you’re the last living member of the Fireteam or running solo. You also have the option to switch to the Crucible Origins track, a quiet moment that greatly increases the reload speed of your guns when you’re reloading when not in combat.

As always, the trial will be available from the daily reset Friday at 10AM PT/1PM ET to the weekly reset next Tuesday at the same time. In the meantime, you can also visit Xur to see what Exotics he’s selling. Be sure to visit Saint-14 in the tower to get the Trials card, which will determine certain bonuses (such as whether you earn bonus rewards at certain milestones, or whether losses can be forgiven).

Trials of Osiris is a weekend PvP mode that runs from the daily reset on Friday to the weekly reset on Tuesday, giving you four days to participate. Your goal in the trial is for you and the other two players on your Fireteam to make a “flawless” run, winning seven games without losing any in the process.

Go Flawless and you’ll get a trip to the lighthouse and some special rewards, including the new Adept weapon. These have additional stat bonuses that make them one of the most coveted items you can get your hands on.

However, thanks to a slew of changes to Trials this season, the mode is easier to access than ever. Trials of Osiris now has a matchmaking feature, so you can play even if you don’t have a full three-person squad to play.Your Trials Passage, the card you bought from Saint-14 that allows you to access the mode and track your victories, can now no Track your losses – so even if you lose in a flawless match, you can keep playing and get rewarded. Bungie also tweaked Trials so you get rewards based on how many you get roundinstead of matches, you win in your session, and adds a reputation system similar to Crucible and Gambit, making it easier to get some of Osiris’ unique loot trials.

Finally, you’ll earn Trials Engrams for participating in the mode, which you can cash out with Saint-14 on the weekend you receive them. Thanks to the new update, you can tweak these engrams to generate specific loot, or take advantage of random drops to expand the items available in your loot pool. So even if you’re just taking the trial alone, there are plenty of ways to get great new gear.
