Action RTS Crossfire: Legion Early Access delayed until May

Crossfire: Legion, a streamlined, action-heavy RTS game based on the popular Korean free-to-play shooter, will be available on Steam in early access on May 24th. The Early Access release date was originally slated for April, but developer Blackbird Interactive said it decided to delay the release in order to incorporate more feedback gathered during the Crossfire: Legion beta.

“Delay, but don’t be frustrated, for good reason,” the developer said in a new Steam post. “It was a tough decision, but we received a lot of feedback from players during technical testing and demos, and we can now implement these changes more easily. This includes everything from compression bugs to optimizing graphics performance.”

Another free beta period was planned for April 21, but Blackbird canceled it due to the Early Access launch delay. “Our priority right now is to get the game ready for Early Access,” the developer said. “Once it’s released, we can evaluate the possibility of testing the platform for free later.”

Blackbird points out that its developers, like many fans eager to play Crossfire: Legion, are looking forward to checking out Dune: Spice Wars and Galactic Civilization IV, both of which will be featured in Crossfire: Legion The original early access release date of April 26 was launched.

Meanwhile, the Steam page for Crossfire: Legion is now live, and you can add it to your wishlist if you’d like to be alerted when Early Access is available.
