AEW game reportedly expected to be released in September
According to a new report, the AEW game is expected to release in September. Dubbed AEW: Fight Forever, the wrestling game is said to have been in development since at least 2020, although we’ve only seen sporadic glimpses since the initial reveal. The game is in development at Yuke’s, the studio that supports everything from SmackDown vs Raw in the early 2000s to many modern WWE 2K games.
Fightful Select’s wrestling insider report (paid via Reddit) says a “tentative release date” is set for September, according to people familiar with the project, and that the game has secured a publisher. (that report real Emphasize the “tentative” part. ) Just a few weeks ago, WON discovered a video game logo that reads AEW: Forever Fighting.
The Wrestling Promotion just officially called the project “AEW Console Games” to distinguish it from earlier mobile projects under the AEW Games label. The last time we got a proper look at the game was in September 2021, when a brief footage showed Darby Allin and Jungle Boy in action.
Of course, the “console gaming” brand left behind the PC version of this problem. WWE 2K22 is available on Steam, and, in every way, is a significant improvement over the latest entry in the 2K series.
