Babylon’s Fall PC Review – Our Roundup of Critics Scores

With Elden Ring launching late last month to rave reviews, it’s surprising that Square Enix chose to release its own third-person fantasy game at the same time. Babylon’s Fall releases March 3 as the latest game from Platinum Games, the studio behind Nier: Automata – but are the reviews promising?
As a new online multiplayer game, Fall of Babylon has faced an uphill struggle as it launched on Steam with mediocre player counts and “mixed” reviews on storefronts. In key respects, reviews from the site aren’t much better for Platinum’s newest game — scores as low as 5 out of 5 stars. OpenCritic gives it a critical average of 40, which is marked as “weak”.
An unrated review of Rock Paper Shotgun called it “on-site damage” and “the chaotic chaos of an online action RPG with no rewarding activities and loot.” ComingSoon.net received one of the more positive reviews, noting that it has “some engaging boss encounters and more interesting level design”.
On the most negative side, VGC’s review called Babylonian Autumn “visually dated, consistently dull, and featuring the most mundane PlatinumGames battles we can remember”. TheGamer could be even more damaging, calling it “a bad cash grab that didn’t even make it — no one wanted to spend money on it”.

So not a great launch for the latest Platinum Games. There were suggestions of issues that arose in last year’s beta, which may not have been overcome. However, if you do want to give Babylon’s Fall a try, check out the system requirements first.
