Deus Ex dev’s game looks like Elden Ring x Death Stranding
A new game from one of the main developers behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution is confirmed by the reveal trailer for Hell is Us, a creepy action-adventure game that looks like Death Stranding and Elden Ring mixture of.
Hell is Us is the latest game from Rogue Factor, the developers of Warhammer strategy games Necromunda: Underhive Wars and Mordheim: City of the Damned — but this one sounds very different. Hell is Us is led by Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, who previously worked at Eidos Montreal and is the art director of Deus Ex: Human Revolution — and it has a distinct style, to say the least.
Hell is Us is described as a “semi-open world” third-person action-adventure game set in a country invaded by civil war and supernatural creatures that resemble the various tombstones and monuments in the area. The protagonist is equipped with special weapons to defeat the so-called “disaster”, unlike what the trailer shows, including a drone and a giant Final Fantasy-style greatsword.
While the press release describes Hell is Us as “a new genre,” it states that players have to explore the environment to discover everything without the help of waypoints and guides — which sounds a lot like Elden Ring, despite the trailer’s intriguing hints. The disturbing, otherworldly feeling of Death Stranding.
“Our goal with Hell is Us is to bring back true adventure and exploration,” explains Jonathan Jacques-Belletête. “There is no need for detailed mission logs or precise waypoints on the map. We want players to feel the thrill of adventure, guided by feeling and intuition.”

Hell is Us will be released in 2023, with a PC version on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
