Diablo 2: Resurrection 2.4 Update and Ladder Coming Next Month
Diablo II: Resurrection’s 2.4 update release date is finally being pushed back next month, developer Blizzard has confirmed, after a last-minute delay – which will bring the venerable action RPG’s ranked-competitive ladder system.
Diablo II: Resurrection Patch 2.4 was released in January of this year, hitting the PTR on January 25th, before returning with brand new changes earlier this month. The biggest additions are the long-awaited ladder system and a host of modes that support ranked competitive multiplayer.
New updates and ladders were supposed to be released by the end of the month, but this is Blizzard we’re dealing with, so it’s always going to be delayed. According to a post on the Diablo forums, the team “unfortunately encountered a lot of showstoppers that didn’t show up on PTR but did show up in production” — meaning the patch was delayed until mid-April for two weeks with the ladder system after that.

Diablo 2: Resurrection’s patch 2.4 is currently due out on April 14th, with the ladder system scheduled for April 28th two weeks later.
While the two were originally intended to be released together, Blizzard said it chose a two-week interval “to give the team time to react to any further unforeseen issues that may arise” and to “ensure the smoothest possible Ranked season possible” 1 Start”.
