Diablo 3 season 26 starts next week

A new season of the enduring action RPG game Diablo 3 is getting ready to go. Season 26 kicks off on April 15th at 5pm local time in all time zones and will be the first to introduce a brand new event (more on that below). Until then, however, you can expect the update patch to arrive on April 12, which includes an update to a bigger rift, some item balances, and some bug fixes.
Season 26 brought an echoing nightmare. This new event challenges players to find the cry of the fallen nephalem and try to succeed where they fail. The Diablo team says this means “an intense, intensive, and increasingly challenging event” that will test players’ ability to keep fighting.
During Season 26, you’ll be able to earn rewards previously only available during Season 14, including the boots and pants components of the Conqueror suit. There is also a range of themed portrait frames and an archangel themed pennant. There are also new rewards: a Rakkis’ Remembrance portrait frame and a pet named Toothsome Trooper with a large lollipop in its nasty little hands.
If you haven’t maxed out your hidden tabs in Season Journey, you can add one this season by completing the following quests in Conqueror:
- Complete Level 70 Torment XIII Rift in 5 minutes
- Complete Greater Rift 60 solo
- Kill Greed in Torment XIII
- Kill a level 70 Butcher in Torment XIII within 30 seconds
- Reforged Legendary or Set Items
- Enhance an Ancient item with a level 50 or higher Legendary Gem
- Level 3 Legendary Gems to 55
- Complete two conquests
With Heidrig’s Gift, you can also earn new lessons in the Season Journey by completing specific chapters. Chapters vary depending on your character class, here is the full list:
- Barbarians – Raekor’s Legacy
- Crusader – Akhan’s Armor
- Demon Hunter – Predator incarnate
- Monk – Inna’s Reach
- Necromancer – Shroud of the Plague Master
- Witch Doctor – The Haunting of Zunimatha
- The Wizard – Tome of Delthir
Patch 2.7.3 includes an update to Seasons to support the new Echoing Nightmare event. You can enter the event by picking up the Petrified Scream from the defeated Great Rift Guardian, then transforming it in Kanai’s Cube to summon a portal.
