Dying Light 2 Secret Weapon: How to Get the Wheel of Destiny

Dying Light 2 Assignment Faction Upgrades: What They Are and Which Are The Best

📱

A big part of Dying Light 2 is how important it is to faction players decide to support. Peacekeepers are a belligerent bunch, bent on fighting off the infected and reclaiming the world. Survivors, on the other hand, just want to rebuild in the new world, taking a more passive approach to humanity’s new place on the food chain.

Supporting either side through the game’s story has its own set of consequences, but the only noticeable difference players will see comes from assigning Dying Light 2’s city portion to each faction. However, these differences may end up affecting the shape of the entire city, as new tools are scattered around Villedor for you to use. Here’s a look at the faction upgrades in Dying Light 2, and a clear answer on which side you should ultimately choose.

Peacekeeping

Peacekeepers litter the city with different zombie killing items.

The Peacekeepers or PKs in Dying Light 2 are a brutal group that emphasizes order and power above all else. Its goal is to drive out the infected and retake the city of Viledo for the people, whatever the cost. So, supporting PK will earn players an extra way to eliminate the infected and turn any battle easily.

The first reward players receive from supporting PK is a series of car bombs sporadically placed on the streets of their area of control. Continued support for PK will give players more aggressive tools for fighting the undead, such as disc firing turrets, and eventually players can use their own crossbows. Here is the full list of peacekeeper faction rewards:

  • Car traps: Explosive cars are left behind throughout the city.
  • Razor Cannons: Turrets that can do serious damage to enemies can be found all over the city streets.
  • Electronic Traps: Areas that reject traps that fatally shake enemies when they leave.
  • Crossbow Pack: Players can obtain their own repeating crossbow, as well as recipes for Elemental Bolts.
  • Molotov Lantern: The lantern hangs above the street and the player can knock it down to set anything below on fire.
  • Pendulum Trap: Set up huge swinging traps that can take out large numbers of enemies at once.
  • UV Lights: Add UV lights to the streets and rooftops of Villedor to suppress infection or interrupt the chase.

fastest survival

Survivor is focused on making it easier to traverse the rooftops of Villedor.

If you support survivors, you’ll find more mobility tools than traps and weapons. The group doesn’t want to have anything to do with the undead hordes on the city streets, so rewarding players for the additions to the city should make jumping on rooftops easier.

In one territory under its umbrella, survivors will spread ziplines across the rooftops of Villedor, making it easier to get around before getting the game’s paraglider. With more support, you can expect teams to plant airbags on the ground throughout the city that can be used as jump pads. In the unlikely event that things go south and you get knocked down, one of the group’s ultimate rewards is to let players revive once for free as long as they’re in Survivor’s territory. Here is the full list of survivor faction rewards:

  • Ziplines: Ziplines are scattered across the rooftops of Veledo, making travel a breeze.
  • Airbags: Placed on the street or well below roofs, airbags can quickly throw players into the air.
  • Landing Bags: Huge bags are placed on the edge of the roof for players to handle to safely bring them to the ground.
  • Survivor Resurrection: If the player falls in faction territory, the survivor will come and revive the player.
  • VENTS: Open up more vents on the Villedor to make it easier for paragliders to traverse the city.
  • Upgraded Airbags: Same as regular airbags, except they shoot the player higher into the air.
  • Two-Way Ziplines: Added ziplines that players can ride up and down, making traversing the city a breeze.

claim the street

However, assigning territories to factions is not as simple as reactivating the windmills scattered across the game world. Instead, you have to keep an eye out for water towers and substations, both of which can be given to either faction and cause windmills to be turned into bases.

Water towers are simple parkour challenges that you can easily overcome as long as you add enough inhibitors to your stamina. Substations, on the other hand, lean more into the realm of puzzles, letting you reroute electricity through different power stations scattered across a large building. Substations can also yield tons of resources for crafting even some nice weapons. But if you’re looking for new gear and premium materials, you’re better off tackling some of Dying Light 2’s nocturnal activities.

It’s worth noting that there aren’t enough of these structures in the game to unlock all of the rewards for both factions. If you want to get to the end of one of these trees, you have to keep investing in them. I ended up going with survivors because many of their rewards were not situational. They can be used regularly during gameplay, not in battles or chases with hordes of infected.
