Dying Light 2 patch fixes death loop bug, this time for real

There’s a new Dying Light 2 patch that claims to fix the dreaded death loop bug, preventing it from happening and hopefully fixing the current instance of it happening. A new fix for Techland’s parkour zombie game is out now, and it even comes with a save rollback system.

While Dying Light 2 is undoubtedly popular, players have been complaining about a ton of bugs in the FPS game since it launched earlier this month. Developer and publisher Techland has been rolling out fixes throughout February, but until now has not managed to fix one of Dying Light 2’s most frustrating bugs.

A death loop bug occurs when a player dies in a restricted area and respawns in another part of the map, but cannot return to the area until the time limit runs out – kill them and send them to the respawn location again. Techland said it was fixed last week This campaign prevented the issue, but many players reported that the bug was still affecting them.

The good news is that today’s patch should permanently fix the infinite loop bug. In addition to this fix, there is a new backup save game feature that allows players to roll back to a “safe” savepoint – in case bugs like infinite loops recur.

survivor! We heard: The infinite loop error is a serious problem we know and we will do everything we can to fix it as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience and feedback! pic.twitter.com/ehWat4zGWM

Still, Dying Light 2 has a long way to go before it’s finished. In our own Dying Light 2 review, Dustin pointed to the sheer number of bugs as one reason why Dying Light 2 “can’t take advantage of its excellent parkour and combat mechanics.”
