Ghostwire: Tokyo PC Specs Reveal Your Ghostbusting Needs

Ghostwire: Tokyo hits theaters this Friday, and if you want to see the spookier side of Shibuya, you can do it on PC or PlayStation 5. See if the game will work on your gaming platform Publisher Bethesda, in all its neon glory, has released a list of minimum and recommended PC requirements for several graphics options.

At the lowest settings that allow the game to run at 720p, you’ll be able to play the game on pretty average hardware. Upgrading to a more modern gaming visual standard requires an Nvidia RTX 2080 Super or AMD RX 6800 XT with at least 8 GB of VRAM to run the game at up to 1440p at the highest settings.

In order to take advantage of ray tracing, you need some really powerful hardware to make all the real lighting run smoothly, and at the same time you have some ghosts to kill. The minimum requirements for 1080p ray tracing list an Nvidia RTX 2060 with 6 GB of VRAM, while the recommended specs list an Nvidia RTX 2080 Super or AMD RX 6800 XT for the 1440p version of the game.

When it comes to running Ghostwire: Tokyo with the best visual options, only the best can. Top-of-the-line gaming hardware is required here — or GPUs that are often snatched up by crypto miners before gamers buy them — but the end result is a version of Ghostwire: Tokyo that should look spectacular when maxed out.

Reviews of Ghostwire: Tokyo are live, and while the game has received mixed reviews, many critics have praised developer Tango Gameworks for creating a creepy version of Tokyo full of atmospheric brilliance.

“The story’s shortcomings are disappointing, given its captivating, mysterious early potential, but even that isn’t enough to detract from Ghostwire: Tokyo’s brilliant combat, setting, and world-building,” Richard Wakelin said in his “Ghostwire: Tokyo” review.
