Ghostwire: Tokyo release date leaked on YouTube

It looks like Ghostwire: Tokyo, the terrifying new action-adventure from Evil Within developer Tango Gameworks, will hit theaters on March 25. No date has been officially announced yet, but Beans overflows the PlayStation showcase on YouTube with the upcoming listing.
“Facing Ghostwire: Tokyo Unknown, launching on PlayStation 5 on March 25, 2022,” the listing notes, which is somewhat ironic given that Tango Gameworks is a division of ZeniMax Media, now owned by Microsoft. The game was originally scheduled to launch in 2021, but was pushed back to early 2022 in July of that year – and, for the record, it’s also confirmed to be coming to PC.
Ghostwire: Tokyo promises to be more action-oriented than Tango Gameworks’ Evil Within survival horror series. In 2020, publisher Bethesda Softworks described it as “the studio’s first foray into action-adventure.”
Bethesda said at the time: “Help them create a more action-focused game is Shinichiro Hara, who worked on the advancing combat and glorious kill system in Doom (2016), and now Ghostwire: Tokyo “The Combat Director.” . “Hara and Tango’s combat team created a complex combo-based system that utilizes movements inspired by traditional Kuji-kiri gestures.”
Trailers, like the most recent ones below, also lean quite a bit toward the action side of the coin, though they’re still pretty creepy.
The March 25 date isn’t official, but it didn’t appear on some random YouTuber’s channel — it’s the official PlayStation ‘Tube, which has 14 million subscribers. It’s also worth noting that no one is willing to remove the date yet. I think it’s a pretty solid bet, but I’ve contacted Bethesda to confirm, just to be sure, and I’ll update if I hear back. Either way, if you want to learn more about Ghostwire: Tokyo, you might want to tune in to this PlayStation Showcase, which kicks off on February 3rd at 2pm PT/5pm ET.
