Intel is getting ready to launch its fastest Alder Lake CPUs
As Intel prepares to launch its fastest Alder Lake processor yet: the Core i9-12900KS, there will soon be a new contender in town for the title of best gaming CPU. Now, the company today announced plans to ship its new flagship chip to customers on April 5 for $739.
Intel to show off in upcoming ‘Core i9-12900KS’talking technology‘ The livestream, also starting on April 5, will see industry experts build four gaming PCs and “talk about the capabilities of the 12th-generation processor family and its latest addition”. It’s unclear what features the company plans to focus on, but we’ll likely see its new top-of-the-line chips in action.
The Core i9-12900KS has an astonishing 5.5GHz top clock speed on its eight performance cores, which helps significantly increase fps or even higher in video games with processor-related bottlenecks. Without a doubt, it’s a great choice for eSports games like Apex Legends or Valorant, allowing your system to maintain consistently high frame rates and take advantage of the high refresh rates of the best gaming monitors.
While Intel describes the Core i9-12900KS in its marketing materials as “the world’s fastest desktop processor,” its time at the top may be fleeting. On April 20, AMD will unveil the 3D V-Cache-based Ryzen 7 5800X3D, which the company calls “the world’s fastest gaming CPU.”

Ultimately, however, these two chips may be surpassed by the upcoming Intel Raptor Lake and AMD Zen 4 processors, both of which are rumored to arrive later this year.
