Mad Catz focused on creating keyboards that looked like they were assimilated by Borg. The Strike 7, released a few months ago, was divided. If you’re tempted but put off by the $300 price tag, you might be interested in the Strike 5, a $200 alternative that replaces the touchscreen pop-up with the dreaded glowing eye of doom and some analog buttons module.

Strike 5’s breakout sections can be changed to suit your wrist and typing style, and there are “21 programmable macro buttons” that provide “63 user-definable commands.” What’s more, it supports “full 16 million color RGB backlighting” so you can finally adjust the keyboard to that perfect deep purple.

But what does it look like when you take it out of the box? Evil Avatar found a video with all the answers. If you’ve sold one, you can pick one up here.
