Microsoft Flight Simulator to get DLSS support this year

Microsoft Flight Simulator players have a lot to look forward to this year, including a significant performance boost. Simulation games will get DLSS support when DirectX 12 mode arrives later in 2022 – which should be a boon for players with older hardware or higher resolutions.

The latest developer Q&A stream revealed many milestones for Flight Simulator’s future. DLSS support and DirectX 12 are coming “later this year,” but Asobo Studio didn’t provide more specific information about the update. However, when this set of features does arrive, players will be able to render games at lower resolutions to improve performance while still enjoying high-res visuals.

In the nearer future, World Update 7 will arrive on January 31st with updated graphics and new attractions in Australia. World Update 8 is scheduled for late March and will include an update to the Iberian Peninsula, covering Portugal and Spain. Sim Update 8 is also coming in March and it focuses on bug fixes.

Sim update 8 will also include a new propeller simulation and propeller wash model for the in-game Cessna and King Air aircraft. This will be followed by Sim Update 9 in April, which will be another pass on stability issues.
