Nicolas Cage as Dracula in Renfield, it’s a visual feast

The first images from the upcoming monster movie Renfield have arrived, showing Nicolas Cage wearing Dracula’s Throne. people Those first shots came in, showing Cage exuding a strong resonance reminiscent of Christopher Lee’s same role in the iconic 1958 Dracula.

Cage stars Nicholas Hoult (The Great), who will play the titular henchman. Runfield will be directed by Chris McKay (“Tomorrow’s War”) and comes from a script by Ryan Ridley (Rick and Morty) – which in turn is based on Robert Kirkman (“The Walking Dead”) original story outline. While no solid plot details have been released, the film may sound like a “modern adventure” that also satirizes toxic workplaces and unhealthy working relationships. In Bram Stoker’s original 1897 novel Dracula, the character Renfield – a patient in a mental hospital – acts as a vampire’s assistant and Fired to believe he would gain immortality while feeding on rats and insects.

Cage went on to get some of the strongest reviews and buzz of his entire career. In the upcoming “The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent” (releases April 22), he plays himself and hangs out with a drug lord who later becomes a CIA informant. In the recently released “Pig,” the unpredictable actor digs surprising depth into his character’s relationship with — as the title suggests — a pig. Cage, 58, said in an interview in September that he would never retire.

Cage also previously played a literary critic who thought he was a vampire in the 1989 horror comedy Vampire Kiss.
