Nvidia’s RTX 3090 Ti graphics card could cost close to $4,000
The best graphics cards are already ridiculously expensive, but Galax’s Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti could cost as much as a high-end gaming PC. Moore’s Law found that the eye-popping price of the GPU was listed in a leaked Minh An Computer pre-order ad, which was then quickly removed from the retailer’s social media and website.
The expensive card in question is the Galax GeForce RTX 3090 Ti 24GB EX Gamer Black Edition, a title as absurd as its proposed price. Leaks of the GPU suggest it could cost VND 86,990,000 ($3,840), which means it could cost close to the cost of an Alienware Aurora R13 desktop with an Nvidia RTX 3080.
High motherboard partner prices are enough to keep the RTX 3090 Ti out of reach, but sources close to Moore’s Law also say the GPU is being delayed indefinitely and Nvidia is keeping its plans on its chest. While that doesn’t mean the card has been canceled, it does suggest a potential release date isn’t in sight.
If one thing’s for sure, it’s that persistent shortages are still causing a stir in the PC gaming space. Even if the RTX 3090 Ti finally arrives, the 1,000W PSU requirement could make upgrading your rig an expensive affair.
Thankfully, with Valve’s Steam Deck arriving on February 25th, there’s nothing to be sad about when it comes to low-spec games. Even better, this portable console will feature AMD FSR in its SteamOS, which will help gamers use the device as a 1080p desktop replacement.
