Path of Exile hits highest player count in nearly 10 years

The popular action RPG Path of Exile, one of the best free-to-play games on PC, just broke the record for concurrent players yesterday – making the RPG the highest player count since its release in 2013, This seems to be mainly due to the launch of the new expansion Siege Atlas.

Path of Exile was released about 9 years ago in 2013 – although it had a beta version before that – it hit about 32,000 concurrent players and held a record for several years. Around 2017, Oriath’s Great Fall expansion came along with the new Alliance, and since then, Path of Exile has been steadily increasing its player count.

Yesterday, on February 4th, the latest expansion, Siege of Atlas, was released, and with it came a new surge of players — in fact, it broke Path of Exile’s nearly 10% on Steam A few years have passed since the history of famous players.

The record now stands at 158,882 players, surpassing the January 2021 record of 157,103 players. Developer Grinding Gear Games announced the new record on Twitter – and it’s all thanks to Siege of the Atlas – and thanked all gamers for their support, it’s been great.

✨We officially set a new record! ✨

More players are playing Path of Exile: Siege of Atlas now than at any time in Path of Exile’s 10-year history. 🚀

All of this is great because this may actually be Path of Exile’s last chance to break the player count record, as Path of Exile 2 is currently set to release later this year.
