If someone knocked me on the head and I fell into a coma, it’s likely that when I woke up in the hospital, dazedly looking around at concerned family members and medical professionals, my first question would have been: “Is Skyblivion out yet? ?”

This massive modding project recreates The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion entirely in Skyrim’s engine, and has been the work of a dedicated team of modding volunteers over the years. With every dev diary published, I found myself wishing it would be one that said “We’re finally done, it’s out, and you can play!”.Today’s Dev Diary no That. However, it’s yet another tantalizing look at the incredible progress the mod and team have made, even if there’s still a lot of work to be done.

In the video above, you can see Oblivion’s seven goblin clans, from the Rock Biters at Timberscar Hollow to the Three Feather Clan at Plundered Mine. Daedric artifacts also stand out, such as Umbra (a sword, not someone you have to kill to get a sword), the mighty Dwemer warhammer Volendrung, and one of the most powerful weapons in the game, the flaming magic sword Goldbrand.

The cities of Leyawiin and Bruma are also shown, along with an explanation of all the work needed to bring them to life – every asset in the mod was recreated from scratch, which was a massive undertaking. It’s easy to see why it took a decade of effort to get to this point.

Hey, the video even lets us see everyone’s favorite and least favorite character, Ai Faner. I miss that little furry boy.Hope not also Until I myself win his eternal love in Skyblivion.
