Snowrunner mods: The best user trucks and maps
So you want some Snowrunner mods? Despite the name, Snowrunner doesn’t actually involve any running, which is a shame. It does involve a lot of snow, though, and this off-road open-world game challenges you to drive vehicles large and small through countless open-world environments as you work your way through challenges and explore the great outdoors.
We don’t need the way we’re going, but we might need some Snowstalker mod, so we’ve put together a handy guide to check out some of the best. Now it’s worth setting your expectations – we’re mostly talking about new cars here, with some new maps added.
It’s also worth pointing out that Snowrunner uses Mod.io, an emerging platform designed to try and break down barriers between platforms, so you can use the same Snowrunner mods on consoles as well. You can read more about Mod.io here as part of Humankind’s rollout of mods, but what you need to know is that while these mods are compatible with Steam, you’ll need to grab any users directly from Snowrunner’s Mod.io page Revise.
These are the best Snowrunner mods:
- iX 3880 Heavy Duty Wrecker
- IS-2 tank
- GGMS money cart
- off-road trailer
- TC 2020 YEET MOBILE
- red canyon
- Evil ISV
- RNG TX bridge layer
- lime mud park
- Frog Monster II
iX 3880 Heavy Duty Wrecker
The IX 3880 Heavy Wrecker is currently the most popular mod on Mod.io, and it’s definitely a heavy vehicle that has it all. It can be flat, you can lift things with a crane, or even tow! There are reports that it doesn’t play well with some of the other mods, but overall, players can only have good things to say about the Heavy Wrecker.
Of course, when you see a game about off-road vehicles, there is one question worth asking: can we drive tanks? According to M181 and Poghrim, the answer is “yes, basically”. This dynamic duo teamed up with the addition of the Soviet IS-2 heavy tank.
It doesn’t have a track, as the Snowrunner isn’t designed to accommodate these types of vehicles, but it can tackle almost any terrain. As far as we know, the cannon doesn’t do anything, but we always have our imaginations and the ability to shout “pew pew”.
GGMS money cart
We imagine the life of a rich truck driver as a stressful drought, knowing that there are many, many people who want what you’re carrying. Now you can bring that tension to Snowrunner with this set of off-road GGMS money carriers, each with a different amount of money in each truck. You can even transfer money between them!
They don’t actually do anything other than hold money, which we don’t think counts as money in terms of money the game uses to buy vehicles. Maybe you can get a friend to rob the tank and you can pretend you’re playing a round of money heist.
It’s not just about fancy new cars, though — you’ll also need a decent off-road trailer to haul things around. The FOXCRF450RIDER has a mod here that introduces 26 new trailers that the mod makers claim all drive much better than the originals.
There will still be some oddities – the fenders might cut through the terrain, the suspension on the various trailers can be a little weird when unloaded, but in general if you want to outfit your fleet with some sweet hauling gear then This is the mod for you.
TC 2020 YEET MOBILE
Just because this is a game about off-road driving doesn’t mean you can’t traverse all the rough terrain in style. YEET Mobile is designed to meet this need. Forget the Tuz 420, how about this stylish sports car?
It comes in three modes: a typical “street” configuration, and two types of off-road variants that include oversized wheels on a sleek and compact frame. The street version can even be towed.
We’ve discontinued our shiny new toy line with a new map – Red Canyon. Primarily geared towards single-player, this picturesque and dusty Utah has 18 contracts and a few quests to keep you busy. It’s a map that’s more about precision driving, balanced with stock 6×6 trucks so you don’t need to do as much scouting.
Who needs Halo Infinite when you can drive the Warthog around all day? The Hellion ISV is a bespoke creation of the M181, inspired by Halo’s iconic off-road 4×4, but not a direct replica. It can carry a trailer, has a variety of tire options, and it looks gross. It might be a bit “OP” in terms of how it interacts with the environment, but hey, you enjoy watching it.
RNG TX bridge layer
Added another military-grade flare to Snowrunner, the Bridge Layer was created in response to some of the more challenging terrain additions introduced during the simulation’s Phase 4 update. In short, it allows you to lay new bridges to drive over.
Unfortunately, the technical realities of this mod mean that the RNG TX bridge layer is less stable than your typical vehicle mod, as the bridge itself can be quite finicky. Instead of summarizing everything here, we recommend you check out the mod page, and make sure you read everything you need to know about how bridging layers work (or in some cases don’t).
lime mud park
Another map mod that doesn’t have any contracts or anything really to do other than revel in the mud. It’s a map dedicated to testing vehicles on different types of muddy terrain, and it’s laid out almost like an obstacle course for stunt cars.
Limes Mud Park comes with six trucks as part of the download, so you won’t need to use any of your own, but I thought it would be fun to grab the Hellion above and go through its paces.
Frog Monster II
Frog’s Monstrousity II is a 26-door OBS Ford with giant wheels that can drive through basically anything and look like a nightmare. do you need? Absolutely not. Would it be fun to drive in? Absolutely.
