Stranger in Heaven: Final Fantasy Origins’ PC port is a dud

📱

Stranger in Heaven: Final Fantasy Origins is finally here, but it’s apparently not compatible with gaming PCs. According to disgruntled fans, the RPG has performance issues, and playing at lower settings doesn’t seem to alleviate the confusion.

On the Stangers of Paradise subreddit, players report that the fantasy game suffers from slowdowns and frame rate issues even when paired with high-end GPUs like Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 3080. Additionally, the PC port appears to have a total of four resolution options, with a specific frame rate cap based on your choice.

Even with the aforementioned limitations, Team Ninja’s adoption of the Soulslike formula is said to be bold in terms of VRAM, and even the best graphics cards could be under pressure. On Twitter, fans shared similar concerns, with Hope in Chaos The game is claimed to limit GPU and CPU utilization while striving to consistently hit 60fps.

Of course, Stranger Things isn’t the first Square Enix game to have problems on PC, as Final Fantasy VII Remake was released in a similar state. That said, the RPG’s developers confirmed to Wccftech that it will get Nvidia DLSS upgrade support at some point in the future, which may make the experience smoother.
