Teardown Release Date – Anti-Minecraft Indie Coming Soon

⌨️

The “Physical Destruction Simulator” teardown release date has been set, and the indie game will leave Steam Early Access later this month. Voxel-based sims are basically anti-Minecraft, aiming to destroy rather than create, and Teardown 1.0 is coming – there doesn’t seem to be a price hike.

Developer Tuxedo Labs has confirmed that Teardown — part puzzle adventure game, full destruction sim — will be out of Early Access, but the price remains at $19.99/£18.49. The full Teardown single-player campaign actually came out in December, so it’s no surprise that the final version followed.

Teardown is actually a heist game where the goal is to achieve an evil goal through creative destruction. Of course, there’s also a full sandbox mode where players can smash entire levels in a variety of satisfying ways. The final release comes with “extensive mod support and Steam Workshop integration,” and it already boasts over 2,000 user-created items — including everything from Minecraft pickaxes to black hole launchers and maps based on Five Nights Freddy.

Teardown was a huge success in Steam Early Access, so we’ll see if the final version can do better.
