Galt was interviewed by voice actor and YouTuber Jack The Voice in 2019. When asked about the start of his career, Galt said: “I’ve always wanted to be an actor, my whole life.”
He recalls winning the Air Force talent competition in 1958 and then touring as entertainment on the U.S. Army Network Radio Service. “I was on tour with Johnny Grant’s Operation Star Elevator, with Angie Dickinson, Joan Blair and Roscoe Artes and all kinds of actors I’d heard about in my youth, it was a pleasure to meet and Collaboration. That’s how it really started. The Air Force me became professional when I went out.”
Galt also shared memories of many other characters he played, some of which were ethnic cartoons similar to Shadow Warrior’s Lo Wang, whose words and voice blended Chinese and Japanese stereotypes. Galt’s views on Tamarind apparently haven’t changed over time: he says he was criticized at the time for the role, but still wonders why it matters.
When initially getting the role of Lo Wang, Galt recalls that he had already done voice work for monsters and enemies in 3D Realms’ games. “So they knew I had this versatility and they thought ‘we’ll give it a try for Rowan’ and it worked.”
While many players remember his role, others who reacted to the news of his death fondly recall him as the voice of several characters in Deus Ex, including UNATCO director Joseph Manderley and helicopter pilot Jock, and Grandpa Enisi in Prey.
