Truck Simulator 1.44 does incredible things to unmarked roads
1.44 will be the next major free update for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2, and the developers at SCS Software are just starting to reveal what features we can expect from the patch. They just confirmed that the unimaginable will happen to unmarked roads in both races: they will be marked.
Yes, well, after the road is marked, the term “unmarked road” may no longer be relevant, but there is still a chance of discovery. Both ATS and ETS2 have many unmapped roads leading to smaller border areas. Now, however, these trails remain unmarked even after you drive them.
They won’t be marked at the start of 1.44, but once you’ve discovered a secret area, it’s added to the map so you can easily find it again. You’ll also get handy discovery notifications via a line in the Route Advisor.
We don’t know much about the 1.44 update, but we do know that the developers are working on multiple reworks to improve older regions like California and Austria, and we’ll likely start seeing some of these rework coming into the game soon.
