Vampire Survivor 0.5 Added Arcana power boost and many cats
The new Vampire Survivors 0.5 patch notes have been released alongside a major new update for the roguelike game, which, as previously confirmed by developer Poncle, is headlined by the inclusion of an arcane power-up that can completely change the game. Also, cats. Lots of cats.
With the vampire game halfway through, the new Vampire Survivors Arcana big update adds a long-promised “major new gameplay mechanic,” which Poncle is now revealing as a power-up. By finding Randomazzo in Stage 4, players can unlock up to six major Arcana buffs – including critical strikes, improved healing, and even in-match revives.
Poncle describes this update as “true Early Access content” as the introduction of Arcanas is apparently “largely untested due to the amount of interaction it may have.” The developers are assuming “significant changes” to this mechanic in future updates, but hope players will still “find new ways to break the game and hit 1 fps fun again”.
Players are also promised a new weapon, which is the Gatti Amari – a pack of cats. When activated, the cats will run around the screen, destroy everything they see, and even engage in cartoonish melee with each other – which deals area damage.
