Windows 11 update may finally make the new OS worthwhile for gamers

It’s been a tough post-launch period for Windows 11, which isn’t as well-received among gamers. This is to be expected when the OS slows down your gaming performance. However, with the latest Windows 11 update, our gamers may experience some issues.
The KB5008353 update was recently made available as an optional download to users who are not part of the Windows Insider Program. According to Windows Update, the update addresses some SSD and HDD-related bugs that have been causing performance issues with the new operating system.
The bug in question causes unnecessary processes to occur during read/write operations, which is not what you need
It was originally addressed in a late November Insider Preview, with the update marked KB5007262. The patch notes say it “addresses an issue that affects the performance of all disks (NVMe, SSD, HDD) on Windows 11 by performing unnecessary operations every time a write operation occurs.”
Now, after dealing with this issue for eight months, the fix has rolled out nicely to us non-Insiders if we choose to accept it. From the sound of it, you should.
The optional updates that Windows roll out every Patch Tuesday are considered more stable than updates that Windows insiders are brave enough to do. If that means better gaming performance, hey, it’s certainly worth a shot.
For gamers who are still desperately clinging to previous OS versions, the patch might even end up being worth updating to Windows 11. Of course, it still comes down to personal preference.
