Based on the popular paranormal activity film series, Lost Souls tells a unique story in everyday life. Part of what makes this series so effective is that it places supernatural encounters in what could be your own home, meaning your own hallways will never look the same again.
It works just as well in games. You’re walking around in a dark house where only your flashlight can guide you – you have to be careful as it will run out of battery power. It’s a game that makes you think about all kinds of scary things that turn out to be scarier than the blood on your face. What helps make this game feel unique is that you’ll never be more familiar with the layout of the map because it’s procedurally generated. Are you afraid of the sea? If so, give Narcosis a try (or not). In this game, you play as a man who survived an earthquake at an undersea methane collection station. You’re wearing a wetsuit all the time and your air supply is decreasing every second, giving the whole thing a very claustrophobic feel.
There are times when you’ll explore the ocean floor outside the station, where you’ll encounter strange and almost otherworldly creatures that will terrify you. At other times, you’re inside a flooded station, and the horror comes from bizarre paranormal events that seem to be taking place, and the isolation you can only get when you’re alone in a place where you’re expecting others. It’s a really cool game to definitely try in VR.

Arizona Sunshine
There are very few zombie games these days, so it’s hard to tell a decent game from a shovel software. Rest assured, Arizona Sunshine is really a great game and a whole new VR experience, so we certainly recommend it to anyone looking to fix a VR horror game (and frankly, anyone who likes FPS games too ).
Part of the game’s appeal comes from the fact that despite having an unknown protagonist, the one you play actually has a great personality. He’s commenting and commenting throughout the game, which is actually pretty funny. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the game can also be really chilling, especially the part where you’re in the dark and can’t hold a weapon because you need to hold a torch.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Need Help
Nothing beats old-fashioned jumping phobia, which series has the best jumping phobia? Five Nights at Freddy. For those who don’t know, this is a series about animated animals coming back to life in a pizzeria at night. Even just playing it on a regular monitor, people are freaked out by these terrifying monsters, so you can only imagine how it would look in VR.
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Needed was designed to take many of the concepts from earlier games in the series and translate them into a VR experience. That means you’ll be walking around the dark halls of this old pizzeria full of anxiety, worried that one of the animatronics will jump out at any moment and kill you. It’s a relatively simple game, but ideal for classic thrill seekers, and when it comes to that raw unease, there’s not much to rival FNAF.

Phasmophobia has been making waves in the horror community since its 2020 release. What sets this game apart from others is that it’s a horror experience designed specifically for co-op.
In many ways, it’s like a scarier version of Ghostbusters, when you enter a haunted house with a team of three other people. Then you need to track down and destroy the ghost – but with the ghosts of the inhabitants trying to kill you and your sanity slipping all the time (and weirder things happen as you get less sane), it’s not Easy.
