Apex Legends Unshackled event: Flashpoints, skins and everything you need to know
The Unshackled event is now live in Apex Legends, bringing back Flashpoint LTM and adding new cosmetic items to the game. The event runs from April 19th to May 3rd and includes two free bonus tracks and over 40 new cosmetic items that will be permanently added to the game’s loot pool. Here’s everything you need to know about Apex Legends’ Unshackled event.
The return of flashpoint
The limited-time mode Flashpoint returns to Apex Legends, this time taking place in Olympus. In this mode, all healing items have been removed from the loot pool and replaced by flashpoint areas. If you want to regain your lost health, you’ll need to enter one of the areas, but be prepared for the fight, as the other squads will do the same. This mode is available throughout the campaign.
Two free bonus tracks

Two free bonus tracks are available during the Unshackled event, each lasting one week. For the first week of April 19-26, players can earn epic charms, epic RE-45 skins, and epic Prophet skins, as well as 22 Battle Pass stars. April 26 to May 3 includes Epic Boxing Loch Ness Holographic Spray, Apex Pack and Unshackled Pack, guaranteed to include at least one Unshackled cosmetic. Each free pass will require 3,000 activity points to fully complete, and if you complete the first tier of challenges, you can earn at least 1,000 points per day.
Free Rewards Pass challenges include:
- Play 2 games (200 points)
- Deal 2,000 damage in Arenas (200)
- Win 1 Arena match (100 points)
- Get 5 knockdowns in Battle Royale (200 points)
- 4 times in the top 10 in Battle Royale (200 points)
Each challenge has a second tier to complete, offering more points.
Unfettered Cosmetics Collection

The Unshackled cosmetic line functions similarly to the Dark Depths event. 40 new items have been added to the collection, all of which will be added to the main loot pool after the event. During the event, items can be purchased directly with Apex Coins or crafted using handcrafted materials. Untethered items can be crafted at an activity rate (twice the regular loot pool) for at least two seasons, but Respawn Entertainment will likely cut costs at that point. During the event period, there are special offers in the event store, allowing you to get a combination of items and Unshackled packs at small discounts. Unshackled packs are only available during the event.
Note that the Unshackled event is not a collection event. You do not need to collect heirloom items if you purchased all cosmetic items during the event. This also means that the Unshackled pack is only 400 Apex Coins (about $4) instead of the collectible pack price of 700 Apex Coins.
