Cyberpunk cat game Stray launches July 19th, will be free via higher tiers of PlayStation Plus
Stray, the highly anticipated cyberpunk adventure game in which players take on the role of a cat with a backpack navigating a robot-infested city, now has a release date. Originally slated for an “early 2022” release, the game will officially hit the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on July 19. Stray will also be the first day of a new and improved PlayStation Plus subscription service, meaning that users with a PS+ subscription at its highest tier will have access to games without a purchase.
In a dystopian city, Strey follows a cat who gains the ability to communicate with humans after encountering a drone named B12. In addition to this little robot, the furry pal must use its cat-like reflexes and propensity to push objects off ledges to navigate the city to avoid enemies, solve puzzles, and survive.
Stray can be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store and pre-ordered on Steam. Stray’s release date was announced at the PlayStation State of Play event, which also brought news about Final Fantasy XVI, Street Fighter VI, and Resident Evil 4 Remake.
