Dragon’s Creed 2 officially announced

Capcom officially announced the long-awaited Dragon’s Dogma 2 at a special 10th anniversary celebration of its original game.

While only the game’s logo was shown, director Hideaki Itsuno made the announcement at the end of the festivities. It’s “in development,” but exactly how far it will go is a mystery.

A subsequent press release confirmed that Dragon’s Dogma, like many other Capcom games, will run on the RE engine. In addition to Itsuno, at least two developers from the first game, Daigo Ikeno and Kenichi Suzuki, will return to work on the sequel. Beyond that, no more information was shared about the game, with Capcom only saying that the developer is “happy to share more details in the future.”

Dragon’s Dogma originally launched in May 2012 for Xbox 360 and PS3. It later received an upgraded version called Dark Arisen, which included expanded content, and then received ports on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. There’s even an animated series on Netflix.
