Fall Guys Cross-Progression Explained: How to Cross-Save and Transfer All Unlocked Items

Fall Guys Season 1: Free For All is now available on all systems, and Xbox and Nintendo Switch players will see the game for the first time. This season is a mini reset for veteran players, as the Ultimate Knockout game is now free, available on different consoles, and features cross-play and cross-progress for the first time. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the additional steps of making sure all your inventory items and game history come with you to the game’s new platform.
Cross-progression essentially means that no matter where you play Fall Guys, your progress will be saved in one account. In contrast, crossplay is a feature that allows players to join with players on any system where Fall Guys is available. The two terms are often confused by the community. Crossplay requires less explanation than Cross-progression, which is sometimes called cross-save. Whatever you like to call it, we’ve put together a guide explaining how to ensure you have an account that can transfer its progress across any system.
Connect your Fall Guys account
This is a step that is more suitable for new Fall Guys players. When Epic Games acquired Mediatonic, the developer of Fall Guys, it stipulated that every Fall Guys player must have an Epic Games account. You won’t be able to log in and play Fall Guys without an Epic Games account. If you played the game before Season 1 released, you already have an Epic Games account, so these players can skip this step.
For new players, when you download Fall Guys for the first time, you will be prompted to create an Epic Games account. You can do this through a prompt that appears on your system, or you can go directly to the Epic Games Store website. If you’re doing it directly from the website, look at the top right corner of the screen and you’ll see a box that says “Sign in”. Click the box and scroll down until you see the option to create a new account. Either way, you’ll need to register with a valid email address and create a password. You can also create an account using other methods, such as using Steam, Facebook, etc. Choose the method that works best for you.
After you create an Epic Games account, you can use it to log into Fall Guys on your desired system.
linked account
While you may be playing Fall Guys on one main system (like the PS5), you may also want to play the game on another system. If you do, then you need to make sure to transfer progress on one system to the other. It’s just a matter of linking your account to the system where you play Fall Guys.
To do so, log into Fall Guys on any system and go to the main lobby screen. Here you will see your character standing in the middle of the hall. Hover over the name above the role and click the Account button. In the Accounts section, click Connect and Account again. Here you will be able to link your account to any other system you are not currently playing on. For example, if you’re on PC but want to play Fall Guys on PS5, you’ll need to log into Epic Games and then log into your PS account. The same goes for linking an Xbox or Switch account.
It should be noted that whatever account you link first will be considered your primary account. Your primary account should be on the system where you play Fall Guys the most. So if you’re primarily a PC gamer but have an Xbox in your living room, you might want to make your PC account your primary account. However, progress you make on any account will transfer to any other system you’re logged into, regardless of which is the primary account. Even if you play some on PC, some on Xbox, and more on Switch, your tiers, season pass progress, cosmetic items earned, and more will remain on any system.
