Ghost Recon breakpoint support has ended

Ubisoft has officially announced the end of support for Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

“The past four months have marked the release of our last piece of content,” Ubisoft wrote in a Twitter update. “We will continue to maintain servers for Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and we sincerely hope that you will continue to enjoy the game and have fun playing solo or co-op with friends.”

Over the past few months, Ghost Recon Breakpoint content has begun to taper off with the launch of Operation Motherlode mode, anniversary content celebrating the 20th anniversary of the 2021 series, and the controversial Quartz NFT that has received a lot of backlash from consumers.

As for the future of the franchise, Ghost Recon: Battlefront will take the brand into the future. This is the first-person battle royale-focused multiplayer game in the series, where teams of players fight to find critical intel and withdraw from the battlefield before it’s too late.

At launch, GameSpot’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint review gave the game a 4/10, with Richard Wakeling writing: “Ghost Recon’s identity as a tactical shooter is gone, replaced by a chaotic patchwork of elements and mechanics from other, better games. .It defines characteristics that come down to generality and staleness of the whole thing.”

For fans of the more traditional Tom Clancy-esque single-player experience, some good news is coming as Ubisoft Toronto is working on a remake of the original Splinter Cell. If the recent leak proves to be true, you can expect it and many other games to be featured at the crowded Ubisoft showcase event.
