Halo Infinite Development: "We understand that the community is completely impatient"

One Halo Infinite developer admitted that the fan community surrounding the game is “completely impatient” and increasingly tired of hearing developer 343 Industries talk about future updates instead of offering them.

Halo community director Brian Jarrard wrote on Reddit that the studio was unhappy with its inability to meet players’ expectations. Jarrard said (via VGC) that there is no silver bullet to make things better.

“There are indeed a lot of challenges and limitations. We are certainly not happy that the expectations of players and the community cannot be met, it is a difficult situation that will take team time to resolve,” he explained.

343’s current focus is on Season 2: Lone Wolf, which arrives in May. Expect more details on this soon. A blog post about Halo Infinite Season 1 “results” and feedback will be out today, April 1st, but that probably won’t make much sense for Season 2, Jarrard said.

In a post on Reddit, Jarrard admitted that fans want more content, and they want faster. But this may not be possible due to other factors.

“A lot of production planning, costing, planning, recruiting, etc. is happening that doesn’t really lead to detailed regular updates. We understand the community is just losing patience, and frankly I think it’s understandable to get tired of words,” Jia Ladd said. “We just need some time for the team to sort out the details and then of course we can share as much as we can.”

Halo Infinite launched the biggest game in Halo history last year, with 20 million people watching it at their door. But as mentioned, players have been calling on 343 to roll out new content, playlists and other features for the game as part of its live-streaming service model. The long-awaited campaign co-op mode was further delayed recently, while Forge mode is expected to wait until Season 3.
