Marvel’s Avengers will launch Jane Foster: Thor the Mighty

A future update to Marvel’s Avengers will add Jane Foster as the mighty Thor, a new playable hero. There are two more updates to the new hero as part of Update 2.5, so for now the studio is just teasing her arrival rather than sharing a lot of specifics. In addition to the disclosure, it also details the upcoming 2.4 update.

According to the update, Mighty Thor will share some commonalities with existing Thor designs, but she will also have her own set of moves and elements. This seems to make her and Thor similar to two Hawkeye designs – Clint Barton and Kate Bishop – introduced in a two-part extended story. Jane Foster’s timing hasn’t been announced, but the 2.4 update is targeted for May, so it will be sometime after that.

At the very least, the timing of the announcement seems to be strategically paired with the recent Thor: Love and Thunder trailer. The trailer ends with our first look at Natalie Portman as Jane Foster’s Thor, complete with Mjolnir. You can check out more Easter eggs and details in our full Thor: Love and Thunder trailer breakdown.

Most of the blogs go into the details of the 2.4 update, focusing on system improvements and in-game events. The update will redesign event rewards so that each event provides gear for a different set, the event quest reward structure to earn cosmetic items, give meta-objectives higher tier gear rewards, and adjust meta-objective rewards to provide gear for your entire roster. More details will be closer to the update release date. receive a commission from retail offers.
