April is a ‘likely target’ for Deep Rock Galaxy season 2 release date
We know more about when Season 2 of Deep Rock Galactic should end. Back in December, developer Ghost Ship Games revealed that it was aiming to have a second season of the co-op FPS game “live sometime between March and April,” but now we know it’s more likely next year. “Everything goes well with what’s in Season 2,” the developer said in a blog post, later adding that while they haven’t set a release date for the new season, “it looks like April is a likely target.” As the studio explained, this means players still have some time to perfect the Season 1 Show Pass – though, if you don’t complete it in time, all unclaimed content will be re-entered the game via cargo crates, lost Bags, cosmetic matrix cores and stores so you don’t lose your chance forever.
As for what’s in season 2, the developers have now revealed the first of four new secondary weapons in the game – a crossbow-like contraption called the Nishanka Boltshark X-80. You can check out the display clip below. Another secondary event will be announced in the next weekly stream on Twitch on February 10.
As the developers have previously outlined in the game’s 2022 roadmap, there’s also a new Performance Pass filled with new unlockable cosmetic items, a new season event, and a new season-themed theme. Special warning mutants.
