Baldur’s Gate 3 hotfix calms druids a bit

Baldur’s Gate 3 is in its final year of development, and as the sprawling Dungeons & Dragons RPG moves toward full release, developer Larian Studios continues to add content and iron out bugs. Today, a new patch has arrived that addresses a rather serious glitch: In short, it stops everyone in the Druid Jungle from hating you if you visit an area in the game.

In the first act of Baldur’s Gate 3, you can accept a quest called Find the Missing Shipment, which, if you complete it, will unlock the Zhentarim hideout. There’s plenty to do there, such as trading with the merchant Brem, but some players find there’s a hidden cost to visiting: Anyone who’s ever been to the Zhentarim hideout will be flagged as a criminal or intruder by the residents of Druid Grove.

“We’ve said a polite word to the druids, or at least spoken to the animals at our local petting zoo, and they should be more understanding now,” Larian said in the latest round of patch notes.

This isn’t the first time the studio has had to ask some of its characters to cool off during Early Access, but this time the result should be that you’ll be able to traverse the Druid Jungle as expected – rather than having to every few meters Scroll once.

The patch also fixes several crashes and makes some nice tweaks to the UI.
