Call of Duty: Vanguard is getting a circle-based zombie map
Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Pioneer will get the much sought-after circular map that fans have been calling for…finally. The FPS game’s developer, Treyarch Studios, says it’s working on new turn-based maps to add to Vanguard’s Zombies mode, but they won’t arrive until sometime after season three.
Call of Duty: Vanguard conflated it with Zombies mode when it launched last year. Rather than surviving a wave of the dead, players travel through portals to various parts of the map to complete specific objectives. Treyarch said the next map is a “reimagining” of the Shi No Numa map from Call of Duty: World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops III.
The studio said on Twitter that it will include brand new missions, reworked Easter eggs, and a new camo for Pack-a-Punch. Plus, we’re getting a new chapter in the Dark Aether narrative, as zombies explode better when filled with juicy lore. However, Treyarch said this all “takes time to get into the game,” so the current plan is for it to launch sometime after the third season, which begins on April 27.
However, that’s not the whole goal of Treyarch.
Our next Vanguard Zombies map will reimagine “Shi No Numa” with brand new missions, new areas, new WW missions, remastered EE, new PaP camouflages, classic traps and a new Dark Aether narrative.
This will take time to complete and is currently planned for after the third season.

There are also new Ranked Seasons and rewards, as Ranked Mode will be out of beta at the start of Season 3. In Black Ops – Cold War, the jungle multiplayer map is being remade and a new secret is on its way to Black Ops – Cold War Zombies mode.
Treyarch also says it’s working on updates for Outbreak and Onslaught, as well as the usual new weapon and cosmetic packs for Black Ops – Cold War and Warzone.
