Virtual reality has many advantages, and Resident Evil 4’s VR resurrection brings one of the best horror games back to life. Fans of the series have been embracing Capcom and Armature Studios’ banana-style approach to survival gameplay since its release, and the game’s first post-launch update brings a slew of comfortable tweaks.

Rather than adding new content to Resident Evil 4 on Oculus Quest 2, Armature Studios’ first overhaul focuses on mobility, comfort, and enhanced gameplay. First, you can now guide the protagonist, Leon Kennedy, using hand movements, which players can reassign to either the left or right controller.

The Quest 4 version of Resident Evil 4 is also now easier to use, as you can now adjust the waist and chest height parameters to suit your individual needs. This update also reintroduces the ability to change the color of the laser sight, which can be achieved by modding in other PC versions of the game.

It’s too early for Resident Evil 4’s VR debut, but the game is already giving fans reasons to choose the Oculus Quest 2. While this update doesn’t bring anything new, it’s a step in the right direction in terms of accessibility and accessibility. But if you’re on the fence about some of the new content, one of the original mini-games, Mercenaries, is coming to VR sometime this year.

Resident Evil 4 VR is currently only available on the Oculus Quest 2, so you won’t be able to play it on older Quest devices or any of the other best VR headsets. The game will likely be available on the Oculus Quest 3 (Meta Quest) and the company’s Project Cambria, so you can hold off until the Meta’s next-gen lineup launches.
