Cities: Skylines Airports DLC adds new high-capacity trains and buses

Cities: Skylines’ next big DLC expansion is airports, but airplanes won’t be the only new mode of transportation launching on January 25. The add-on pack for city building games also adds new high-capacity buses, subways, and trains to take people from your brand new airport to places in the city they long to visit.
As explained in several recent dev diaries, Airports in Cities: Skylines will increase in rank as you serve more passengers and increase the attractiveness rating of your city. Each new level unlocks new options, including more efficient and convenient transportation, with direct access to your city’s existing transportation network.
At the first level, you will be able to build an airport bus terminal to the airport, where you can equip articulated airport buses and double decker airport buses. Articulated buses can carry up to 50 passengers, while double-decker buses can carry up to 60 passengers – a nice upgrade over the standard 30-passenger buses offered in the base game.
This tutorial video, produced by Paradox with the help of the City Planner Plays YouTube channel, provides a whirlwind tour of the new transportation options in the DLC.
The Airport Express subway station is unlocked on the second floor of the airport to connect to your city’s light rail subway system. They’re faster than the original game’s subways and carry up to 180 passengers, so they’ll help your visitors avoid missing their flight home.
At level 3 you will be able to add a train station to your airport and have access to the Airport Express. Again, these trains are faster than the passenger trains in the base game, and can carry up to 240 passengers per trip.
Each level has more to unlock, such as the Aviation Museum and Airline Headquarters, allowing your city to have its own customizable airline. You’ll be able to take to the friendly skies when the Airports DLC launches on January 25th.
