City Builder Cities: Skylines marks seven years with birthday patch

⌨️

The city-building game Cities: Skylines is now seven years old, so Colossal Order is celebrating a birthday patch. You can download the update on Steam as it went live recently.

First, the birthday present. The update adds a bunch of stuff related to Chirper, the mascot. You have a new Chirper hot air balloon next to a new large inflatable tourist building. A birthday celebration wouldn’t be complete without a party hat, so you have a Chirper-themed hat. Finally, there are chirps appropriate for the event.

Cities: Skylines patch 1.14.1-f2 – if we give it its full name – also comes with a slew of fixes for the airport expansion. Airships and helicopters will no longer jitter when you try to place them, using mods will no longer prevent achievements from unlocking, and several issues with languages like overflowing text and wrong asset names have been fixed. If you want to read the patch notes in full, you can find them on the Steam Forums.

If you haven’t tried Cities: Skylines, the good news is that it’s currently free on Epic until March 17, so there’s still a few days to grab it.
