Cold War RTS game Warno gets two new maps in today’s update

Early Access RTS game Warno released an update today, adding two brand new maps to the map pool. Patch 6 introduces Mount River and Two Lakes, as well as a new single-player mode for the Death Row map. This update also includes a welcome list of tweaks and fixes, so let’s get started.
Mount River is a new 3v3 map that developer Eugen Systems says is 83 square kilometers. Its varied topography features plateaus, forests and towns, but its central area is formed by three lakes that create a series of defensible chokepoints. However, if a battlegroup has a firm footing there, the map’s western corridor is the best option for flanking maneuvers, so there’s no chance for anyone to get too complacent.
Two Lakes, on the other hand, is a narrower 2v2 map that contains a central area around two towns. Adjacent to this is a U-shaped forest where players can regain some initiative if the opponent takes the town quickly.
Patch 6 also includes a new version of Death Row, designed for single-player AI matches. This is a smaller version of death row that increases the intensity of each battle.
Some nasty bugs have also been corrected, including one that caused missiles to pass through intended targets when fired at close range. You can no longer spawn helicopters in forests, which prevents helicopters from permanently gaining the “lurking” bonus they get when they materialize in forests. It’s not all bad news for the Cyclone Bird, though: Bombers can no longer drop bombs on helicopters, which should help lower pilots’ life insurance premiums.
A full list of patch notes is available on Steam. Eugen said the next major update to Davout should arrive next week.
