Dead By Daylight Dating Sim shows up in the trademark list and wow what a great idea

Dead by Daylight developer Behaviour Interactive has filed a trademark application for a new spinoff game that could take the horror franchise in a completely different direction. As found by GamesRadarthe Canadian studio has filed official documents to trademark a project called “Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim.”

Many times a company will trademark a name to protect their ability to develop or create things using that name in the future, but in this case the name is so specific that we think it might be real. Still, it hasn’t been announced, so there’s nothing official to go ahead with just yet.

Hooked On You’s description of goods and services says it covers video games as well as comic books and graphic novels.

Dead by Daylight dating sims aren’t entirely out of left-hand territory. GamesRadar reminds us that Behaviour released a survey in 2021 asking fans what other genres they’d like to see in the series possibly extended to a day, and dating sim is one of those options.

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer horror game in which one person plays the killer and the other four are survivors, trying not to be… dead by day. Behaviour Interactive has partnered with a number of big-name brands over the years, most recently with Ringu, which brings some terrifying jump scare.
