To repair weapons in Dying Light 2, you need to install the weapon mod. Weapons have up to three slots for mounting gear mods that boost various stats. Crucially, installing mods also adds 50 points of durability, giving your weapons a longer lifespan.
You can’t swap out or change mods – once the slot is full, that’s it. This means that there are only up to three opportunities to increase the durability of the weapon. As a general rule of thumb, it’s worth waiting until the weapon is near the breaking point before installing mods, otherwise you won’t get the full benefit of the durability boost.
The only exception is the unique legendary weapon, which will never allow you to install mods of any kind. No mods mean you don’t get extra durability, so enjoy your time with them as much as possible.
