Epic adds Fortnite parkour, but also Web-Shooters
As of today’s release of Chapter 3 Season 2, developer Epic Games appears to have finally added Fortnite parkour — finally allowing players to climb ledges in one of the best battle royale games on PC. Unfortunately, this comes at a price – you can no longer swing in-game like Spider-Man.
Fortnite is known to be one of the best building games out there, but one of the most common uses of building abilities – at least for me – is to build a staircase to a low-rise roof. Competitor games like Apex Legends and even PUBG Battlegrounds already feature parkour climbing, so it’s odd that Fortnite still doesn’t.
As spotted on Twitter by Fortnite leaker HypeX, new official Fortnite screenshots show two players jumping and climbing on rooftops, so it looks like Epic is finally adding parkour to the game as part of Chapter 3 Season 2 – Of course, starting today.
You can check out the screenshots below. This certainly doesn’t seem ambiguous, as the player character is apparently climbing up the ledge – something that will make fans of Lara Croft and Nathan Drake very happy.

However, the response to the removal of Web-Shooters was more enthusiastic. Once Fortnite gained the ability to climb walls, it lost the ability to swing between them like Spider-Man. We guess no Spider-Man game is perfect.

Considering the importance of Epic’s partnership with Marvel in the Fortnite Season 3 Season 2 Battle Pass — which even includes Spider-Man villain Prowler, the removal of the web shooter is all the more annoying. How are we supposed to fight him without our cyber shooter?
